Annewil Neervens obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism from Hogeschool Utrecht in 2007 and graduated in 2009 with a Master’s degree in New Media and Digital Culture from the University of Amsterdam. She has a particular interest in social media strategy/marketing/advertising, (open source) software, digital influence and mobile/business development.
She has previously worked as Project leader New Media and Innovation for the regional broadcaster Omroep Brabant, as an Online Consultant advising on and guiding (media)companies with their social/mobile strategies, as Coördinator Social Media for the RTL news brands RTL Nieuws, RTL Z, Editie NL, Buienradar, Routeradar and RTL Weer & Verkeer. She returned to Omroep Brabant to work as editorial manager of the newsroom. She is currently employed as Global Social & Campaign Manager at Bavaria N.V.
This blog was initially set up as part of a New Media practice class and contains posts on topics relating to journalism, media theory and new and old media. Some of the articles posted here are also published on the Masters of Media blog, a project run by MA New Media students of the UvA.
